The map is smaller and it is mostly given by Italy+southern Germanic territories+north Africa. Do not expect a revolution from this game, but many details have been polished. The most important one being the gens mechanism. It is finally well-thought and well-implemented: some of your general affiliated to a rebelling gens, and some of your provinces under their influence will secede. This can be a drastic blow to your economical and military power, and need to be prevented or mitigated with careful management of inner politics, family member, generals and politicians affiliated to other families. Enemies factions in the map seems to react reasonably: striking if you offer them an occasion and staying out of troubles if they cannot oppose your military power.

This DLC allowed me to play other 60 enjoyable hours. But I repeat myself: expect improvements, no revolutions in the game play. So far this DLC has been fun, but I think its a bit too easy. When the hordes spawn at the same point on the map all the time, all one needs to do to counter it is position a single well stacked army nearby and you crush them every time. You end up nearly farming them for exp for your army. As for the political system, I think factions outside of Rome have it a little too simple. Playing as Syracuse, I just send off my colonists and always get a good result. Therese no real follow up on colony management after they succeed either, which sucks a little. Get Bayonetta PC Game.
