Game Overview
Playing through multiple areas, you will notice that level geometry has also strangely been altered in small ways. Some mountains/ledges are less jagge, certain items or objects have been added or move at places more travel by a player, pipes and beams have been added or remove from certain spots as well. This really doesn’t impact the overall look of the game as much as the new textures do, but I find it bizarre that time was taken to alter placement of small objects or modifying pieces of map architecture and geometry instead of focusing time and effort on improving textures and lighting.
The original Borderlands may have had it’s flaws, but was definitely craft with a large amount of effort and care. The fact that you can modify a text config file to enable some nice effects, up the shadow resolution, and run the original game in 4K/4k DSR without slapping on anti-aliasing to drag down performance and still visually look better than a re-release a decade later tells me that BL Enhanced was a rushed project and/or under staffed. All in all, BL Enhanced is far from looking enhance and definitely needs more work. I very much so would love to see these issues address as Borderlands is quite possibly one of my favourite games.
