Emberlight is an indie rogue-like dungeon crawler. At first glance the screenshots and the idea sounds really amazing. However as you start to get into the mechanics it really does feel like it’s trying to do too much at one time. You start the game by picking a quest, choosing 3 unit classes, and jumping right into random maps. You travel through rooms fighting enemies turn based style, find treasure, gamble houses, shops, all leading to the boss of the quest. I really wish there was a neutral review option because I neither like or dislike the game. It’s hard to explain but it feels way too chaotic and unbalanced at times. There’s not enough polish as well.
Emberlight is a very interesting and unique game where you play as a group of warriors sent out be the Ember Order, you go down into these procedural generated dungeons where you fight many different monsters and people as you to complete these missions you are sent to do. You have turn based battles where you use your unique and powerful abilities to slay creatures and bosses, after winning a battle you may learn an ability that a monster or boss has had and you can use it against them.
