This new Sponge Bob Square Pants title is a must-have for all fans of the character, series and of the original game that was release back in 2003. It is brilliantly remaster but maintains all the feelings of nostalgia with the same platforming and collect-a-thon game play seen in the cult classic, just with some modern enhancements to better fit in with today’s gaming world. The main story, as expected is nothing revolutionary but it does manage to grasp the very essence of Sponge Bob, with its outlandish and laughable plot. Once again, the remaster stays faithful to its predecessor and focuses the story around its villain, Plankton, who plans to steal the krabby patty formula.

With many different collectables, side quests and characters, SpongeBob Square Pants Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrate is sure to appease a wide range of audiences and despite its downfalls in co-op mode and some minor technical issues, it still remains an accomplish game that pays tribute to the original cult classic.
