Dead Wishes is a visual novel focuses on romance AND psychological horror. The story is pretty simple: MC that have piled quite a debt due to them moving between the cities and fail to get a job are desperate to get the money needed to the point that they will do whatever necessary. There are 12 characters available to romance with 6 different situations the MC could’ve gotten them self into. If I were to complain about one thing, it would have to be that some of the animation get cut out really fast (if you crouch a bunch of times you’ll see what I mean) but other than that it’s very good.
Before I comment on anything regarding the VN, I must stress that I’m a really picky reader. I’ve been playing Visual Novels for almost ten years. And as such, I’d like to think I’m immune to the usual VN tropes and cliches and even the slightest thing could put me off and make me stop playing a VN either temporarily or even permanently. The sprite work is exceptionally good. You can tell they really put a lot of work into Sakuya’s movements from switch directions, using knife attacks and even the time-stop animation.
