Game Overview
This is a wonderful, little game. Wonderful sprite work, beautiful controls, fantastic music, it really has it all. It’s short but doesn’t feel too short. Captures a lot of what I love about the Ys and Zelda games in an extremely compelling side scrolling action-plat former. It really feels like it could be a Falcom or Sega game from the late 80’s. It appears to take a very large amount of influence from Wonder Boy in Monster World, but is really a much better game in my opinion. Anyone who likes extremely well-designed, fun, challenging metroidvania/Zelda/Ys type games will probably love it as much as I do. Definitely worth getting.
The story of the game, albeit very simple, is easy to get into. The dungeons are well plan, but usually require you to find the one specific place you’re suppose to go in order to proceed, and lots of backtracking, so be prepare for that. This doesn’t tend to bother me too much, but it can be frustrating if you’ve been stuck on the same part of the same dungeon for quite a while. Combat is simple, and anyone can figure it out fairly quickly: you have your basic melee attack, and can learn to attack in different ways, but none that are too difficult to learn. You also gain magic powers that allow you to fight/platform in new ways, as well. Get Thief Simulator PC Game.
