Amid Evil is a retro inspired, single player focused First Person Shooter, which has fast paced combat and is set in a world of magic. The best part of Amid Evil is the unique weapons that are really fun to use. There’s a staff that shoots blue bolts which home in on enemies, a sword which fires arcs of green energy, a trident which fires lightning bolts from its prongs, a staff that fires miniature planets which explode on impact like RPGs, a spiked mace which fires its spikes like shrapnel, and a relic that creates an energy blast which destroys all nearby enemies like Doom’s BFG.

The other main game play mechanic allows you to collect the souls of defeated enemies and use them to activate “soul mode”, where your weapons have a more powerful alternate fire mode such as rapid fire, increased damage, or larger explosion radius, which is really useful for clearing large groups of enemies.
