You play as a woman named Bayonetta and you run around stages gunning down and beating up bad guys and occasionally going through quick time events. Some moves you can do are quick time events themselves which reward you with better damage for completing them. The story, while mostly anecdotal, is solid enough. It has repeated and exciting climaxes, more than enough to keep you enthralled. Despite being such an amazing game, is kind of understated in its majesty. I honestly can’t really do the game justice with mere words, it might be better to simply buy the game and play it that way. As long as you like killing monsters, you will enjoy Bayonetta. It’s an extremely refined game with extremely tight controls, limitless combos and several different weapons with entirely new move sets to choose from, so there’s variety as well as flawless fighting. The set pieces are all really incredible, but perhaps it’s more incredible that the game doesn’t ever manage to seem too ridiculous or over the top – rather, Bayonetta is a game where the limits are being defined with each new attack Bayonetta shows off.
