Game Overview

This game is competitive, quick and deceptively skill-based with tight controls and satisfying effects. It shares similarities with Rocket League, but I’d say it’s a lot easier to learn mechanics-wise. The matchmaking format works in the same way that Rocket League does with a point based ranking system, there are seasonal rewards based on your Rank in… ranked at the end of seasons. One thing to note is the awful player count for Matchmaking. A free weekend in January 2019 helped to bolster this.

If you want something quick to hop into when you’ve got an hour to burn, this is a good alternative to Rocket League and a breath of fresh air. It takes seconds to start a match, and matches tend to last around 5 minutes. The overall player count is somewhat low on PC, but Cross play means that the player base is bolstered by PS4 players.
