When DOOM VFR released it was an awful mess plagued by an abundance of glitches and issues that completely broke any sort of immersion that the game attempted to create. Being released by Bethesda, this wasn’t surprising and of course it took a while, but most of the problems have been ironed out. There are still some users in the forums stating that they are experiencing problems, but my 3-hour single-session play through went entirely without fault this time around. It should also be mentioned that even though this game states that room-scale is required, it is not; the entire campaign can be played standing in one place.
You are the last Marine. The last survivor, stranded on Mars. Demons are taking over, and it’s your duty to stop them, save the Mars Research Facility, and stop them from taking over Earth. Sadly, unlike every other “last Marine”, you talk, and that kinda sucks. Bethesda, for one reason or another, thought that you’d need more than your HUD to figure out your next objective. Nevertheless, over the course of 8 main missions, you will visit the many areas of the UAC facility, as well as dive knee deep into the depths of Hell itself.
