Action Squad feels like the silly love child of Door Kickers and Gunpoint, with lots of gore and great humor in places you might not expect it. The game mechanics/controls are rather simple but that doesn’t mean it is easy to play. For me, the difficulty level feels just right and it isn’t too frustrating if you have to start a mision over…and over… and over again.

The game offers some nice features and mechanics, from different operators to equipment unshockable to rooms. That aren’t lit so you won’t know what expects you before you actually kick the door. Once you’ve levelled up a few times you’ll be able to spend those points on upgrades that improve your recoil, meaning you’ll be far more accurate and the hostages will catch fewer stray bullets in their noodles.
