This game is like a streamlined, simplified version of Spelunky. That may sound somewhat negative, but I really don’t want you to take it that way, because Downwell is excellent. It’s actually very good looking for something that at first glance looks like it came from the DOS era of pc gaming. The controls are good. It’s also a heck of a challenge. Get AstroViking PC Game.
It’s very much like an arcade game, in some ways. No story to get trampled by your constant deaths, no extraneous trappings to get in the way of soaking your wallet for every quarter you have. This game plays very well in small doses, and decently well in larger ones. It’s a lot of fun and the guy who made it deserves your money. It’s absolutely worth paying full price for, in my opinion.
