Game Overview

Man, this feels good. Being able to change the way you dodge with different “shoes”, change your range attacks with different weapons and the whole main melee thing. But that has been done. What makes combat great in my opinion, is that instead of swarming you with mobs and having a bullet hell style of fighting, the combat in this game draws you in. The timing system where you deal more damage when your character flashes gives incentive for not button mashing, and this doesn’t just apply to melee, but to range and magic too.

Puzzle stages are some of the most looked forward to for me. Nothing is explained, and you are left to intuition. Being a visual person, the line connection puzzles came easy, but it took me a good 30 minutes to figure out at the later stages that I’m not trying to surround the dot for the other kind of puzzle. Without spoiling anything, the moment it finally clicked and hit me, it just felt so good. The pacing of it being once per stage helps take a break from combat and really gives the game balance.
