Game Overview
In every way, this game has excellent ideas that it just doesn’t take far enough. Doing puzzles incorrectly is a good concept, but why is it so easy to do them incorrectly. At the end of the day, this game is still a puzzle game- you don’t have to sacrifice challenge to subvert expectations. There are traditional “wait way too long” challenges, familiar from games like “The Stanley Parable”, but the dialogue repeats, and is dull. Why isn’t there fifteen minutes of different dialogues, ending in a “Oh hey, you actually waited!” moment? The ‘comedy’ is a little too canned and predictable.
I did like that there were different lines for different puzzles, but they’re just variations on creative insults, or begrudging compliments. The most jarring moment for me was when I had done everything right, in a curious effort to see if I could subvert subverted expectations, and then the game insulted me for getting everything wrong so far… which aside from the tutorial, where it’s forced, I HAD gotten everything correct.
