Ships can be customised through the crafting system so you can tweak your ship to meet your needs, fighting style and overcome difficulties. Some of the complaints about the game in the reviews seem to be people who didn’t get that far. Example, the sector being over run by the incoming forces preventing you from exploring, you can create and modify your sensors or use the glyph that disables incoming forces or add the glyph that gives you 100% loot view. A little rough around the edges but tons of fun. Definitely has a steeper learning curve with it and I’ve had to google a couple issues I’ve had with missions I couldn’t figure out but I’m having a blast so far. My biggest beef is the game likes to give me instructions on how to handle something new while I’m in combat. Seems like just adding a text log would really help with this so I could review what was said after the fight is done (hey devs, hint hint). Other than that the combat is fun and varied, loot is great, progression feels impact, and I’ve never played a space game before where cover is so important especially when fighting the larger ships.
