Game Overview
Very involved game, not a light play. Great for creating networks of things, connecting things to other things, and just generally finding interesting ways to solve problems. Great if you’ve played factor or modded mine craft. The scale of the world and your enemies is formidable, and the initial discovery feel as you acquaint yourself with the world is nice. Lots of things to scan, cute/weird/terrifying creatures to discover… Each step up in attacks are surprising and daunting, but the game is never punishing for failure. Defenses are a sort of sandbox tower defense mini game which integrates into your automation well. I highly recommend playing without spoilers.
There’s a SHORT mandatory tutorial. Any hand holding tells you what you SHOULD do, you don’t actually have to listen to it. So it’s not forced. /missions to disable if you do not need it. Updates sometimes involve balance changes. This is great as it adjusts progression to account for new features and mechanics, but may change how old bases work on new versions.
