Go to IT is what Game Dev Tycoon would have been if the main screen was less interesting, software development was expanded to include more than just games and game engines, the ability to also develop web-based programs, the ability to choose how much work should go into a program, employees had personalities (good, neutral, and bad), and wasn’t yet play tested by developers who can stand to learn some English. That’s not to say that copycat games are bad, because both games are different enough to please Game Dev Tycoon fans. Like Game Dev Tycoon, the player manages a software development company and has the ability to develop in-house projects and accept contracts to do third party development of programs.
Unlike Game Dev Tycoon, new offices, facilities, and employee benefits can be purchased to facilitate more employees and make employees more productive. The graphics are lower end but is hardly an issue for a management simulation. Fortunately, the inferior graphics compensate in quality by being aesthetically pleasing. Male and female employees have an identical head shape (see Positives for more on gender), but the biggest complaint about the graphics, is that the sliders aren’t obvious in allocation of design, coding, and management, and if the player doesn’t notice this, they’re going to be making money by dishing out shovel ware.
