Golftopia is a modern spiritual successor to that. Given my history with SimGolf I held it up as the standard for this game to meet and I can confidently say this game is a worthy successor. It is not a direct copy/paste of SimGolf with a new layer of paint, but does its own thing while still paying respects from its roots. For golf purists who might be a bit off-put by the “Crazy Devices” offered by the game, they are ultimately optional and you can design a very traditional golf course and still be successful.
For early access, this game is extremely stable with no crashes or bugs encountered during play. Most of the work that needs to be done is fine-tuneing the mechanics and difficulty balance.
