Game Overview

There’s something charming about this game that caught me early, and it hits you often. The style is beautiful, the characters simple and memorable. The story doesn’t hold your hand and guide you through the narrative, but the path you walk to pick up all the pieces is excellent. You’ll find a lot of traditional elements here from classic Metroidvanias and platformers, and if you find a little backtracking, expanded mobility, pickup based progression, and themed stages with bosses familiar and beloved, there’s a lot to love here.

Along the way, the story can lose you, and not everyone will enjoy the character beats and narrative changes. The story has some surprisingly dark elements, some touching scenes, and a lot of very cool, occasionally chilling moments. Personally, I enjoyed it from start to finish. I don’t know if it can rank among the masterpiece classics of yore, but for an indie game with a limited budget, schedule, and staff, I couldn’t ask for better. Get Zvezda PC Game.
