Lady and Blade is a ARPG/hack and slash title with an interesting character dynamic which at times can stagnate before soon developing into a awkward yet charming back and forth. Upon starting up and getting through the initial dialogue you are dropped right into the world with a vague understanding of what you are suppose to do which is to escape the current location. There aren’t any tutorials that are given to you other than the ones that show up on the loading screens and the key functions are only visible by pushing the “B” key which is something I wish was told right from the second we spawn in. The game doesn’t exactly tell you where to go in this situation so to save anyone some time open your map and look for the icon that is shown somewhere on the map sometimes it will be a skull.
You play as a female assassin who wakes up with no recollection of how she got to where she is only to be greeted by a talking sword who’s memories also are missing. With his help and others you meet along the way you start your journey together to find out who both of you are. The game is voiced in english which was a little unexpected but what I will say is there are some great voice actors on the roster while others are very questionable choices. The narrator is by far a standout here to me with his cadence being very fitting for his role even though some of his script wasn’t always grammatically sound I still enjoyed his performance the most as he seemed the most experienced.
