Make Sail is a very ambitious and interesting idea for a game that may have been executed poorly. The idea is great: Allow the player to build their ships however they want and allow them to freely sail around an awesome world in order to unwrap a story. The problems. The big one is that placing items on your boat is a chore. Pieces don’t always snap to where they need to be, and fine movements when placing objects feels like you’re doing so with an eye patch and a pair of tongs being held by those arm extenders that you used to play with at Toys R’ Us to pretend to be a T-rex.

Once you’ve gone through the pain of getting all of the items on your boat placed just how you like them then you can take your boat out for what will surely be your shortest adventure of all time. You quickly learn that a WELL BALANCED boat is more important than your design and anything else either capsizes almost entirely or won’t move due to the wind. So much for creativity.
