Game Overview

Before starting Master Magistrate, I found the premise already very interesting as you’re trying to unfold the mysteries as a Shinsengumi, which were a special police force. Overall, the whole game takes place in the late shogunate period so sword wielding isn’t rare during the playthrough. While the player mostly investigates and solves different cases here, I still happen to find different aspects of this visual novel I appreciate. You see, besides finding the culprit, this game introduces a lot of different cute girls and made me get attached to them after going through each case together. In the end, I found myself warming up to characters I quite couldn’t stand in the beginning.

Currently, Master Magistrate is in early access and contains three of four chapters of the main story plus a bonus chapter.
