Game Overview

The core game play loop is fun and interactive. The maps are varied and the difficulty curve is not too steep. And since multiplayer and custom maps are an option, as long as you got people to play with or make maps you never run out of content. From a game play perspective, it’s very fresh. Battles are in real-time, and the onus is on you to make sure that you’re tracking positions of both you and enemy units, the game even gives you combat bonuses for maintaining an accurate map. The radio chatter is excellent, and issuing orders via voice command is fun and a really nice alternative to the much older mechanic of “just instantly go where I tell you”. Units can get lost, have disabled radios, and when in combat there is enough battle audio going on over their radio comms that it makes for a nice little chaotic experience.
