Tamarin is a 3D platformer with shooting mechanics. The over world is all 3d platformer, and the missions you enter have weapons and gun fights, where platforming takes a back seat. Overall, Tamarin controls well, but you must be using a controller. The soundtrack is great, David Wise murders it as usual. I am having a lot of fun with this game. The shooting and aiming is a little wonky, as if they are emulating Jet Force, but that definitely has not ruined the experience for me at all. There are plenty of collectibles, secrets, and areas to explore off the beaten path.

The shooting sections are based on Jet Force Gemini, the platforming is inspired by Banjo-Kazooie, and the soundtrack is reminiscent of the Donkey Kong Country games.
