Game Overview
This time there are some changes to the game play but they mostly come from the level design. The levels that you come across are usually more open than the previous two games, in order to force you to explore more, but they are sadly really badly designed making them more annoying to navigate than fun. The game has overall five different locations for you to visit and out of the these, the best levels were in the last area. The Antarctica levels are really fun and they are a mix of the first two games, meaning lots of puzzles, but also action. Besides those, however, the rest aren’t as fun to play through, especially the London levels.
The controls are nearly identical to the previous games with a few exceptions. For example, you no longer have dedicated buttons for sidestepping and instead, you have to hold down, walk and then press right or left, it isn’t a bad change however since it makes sense for that to be there and you will quickly get used to it. With two buttons left free from that change they gave Lara two new abilities: crouching and sprinting. Both of these new moves are flawed at best and annoying every other time you have to use them.
