This is a fine remaster. It improves many aspects of the original, brings it to a new level, and into the modern era. Does it improve absolutely everything? No. The game still has problems, but the biggest issues are issues the original Rome has always had. Hopefully, Feral will do right by their consumers and continue to improve this work. Finally, I’m recommending this game for people who played and loved the original Rome, and want to appreciate an old friend with some improvements. The biggest positive for me is what this remaster has done for the modding community. Many of the limits and frustrations that modders have had to deal with in the past have been fixed, or removed entirely. Two of the best modding teams from the original Rome have joined forces to create something great. I can’t wait to see what they come up with.
