Game Overview

There are potential and real negatives. If you are new to VR or are prone to motion sickness, then this game can be intense and disorienting. It does have a number of comfort controls built-in to help offset this. Windlands 1 was one of my first VR experiences and it really helped acclimate me, so give it a chance. Windlands 2 introduces a minor “combat” system with bow mechanics. Although this does add a new dimension to the gameplay, I feel the developer needs to dial this in a bit more. Finally, upon it’s Steam release, Windlands 2 has committed the cardinal sin of not including Vive controllers in the settings menu.

Again, this is a preliminary review posted solely because Windlands 2 is a major release from an OG VR developer and there still aren’t many reviews up. This is a very solid game and well worth the asking price. If you’ve never played Windlands 1 and are unsure if you’ll like this, then pick up 1 (on sale) and give it a try.
