The games intention seems to be to narrate a story which feels as though it has very little to do with the game play itself until the much later levels when the story becomes about the fox and not a couple of strangers that you never actually meet. Because of this, the game play often breaks the immersion of the story and the story often breaks the immersion of the game play. The game play itself presents no real challenges to keep you engaged other than to occasionally collect things that aren’t really necessary to collect and interact with something on the occasion that will trigger another piece of the story.
The game’s beauty is its simplicity. It’s mostly just walking, true but you’re experiencing a story while running around in a beautiful environment with a unique art style while listening to some beautiful soundtrack. It’s a very nice and relaxing game and it is only for a specific audience. If you think you would like to have a more story focused game with the things I mentioned above, go for it. It’s worth its price. This game is definitely not for everyone. It’s a unique experience and it’s very noticeably an indie game with a limited budget, but I’d still say it’s worth your time.
