Battlestar Galactica Scattered Hopes is a roguelike fleet management game where each play session is driven by a different story with real time battles that happen in the vastness of space. You take on the role of the leader and must take the mantle of your role to make decisions to keep your fleet alive in the never ending void of space and fighting against the myriad of challenges that come your way. You command a group of survivors constantly hunted by the Cylon Fleet. Each game session is a desperate attempt to reconnect with the last hope of humanity. The Battlestar Galactica. Prepare. Fight. And do what you can to survive. So say we all.
During Fleet Management phases, you have a limited number of turns to prepare for another attack from the Cylon Fleet. As time moves forward quickly, you must set priorities to assist your fleet. You can do the following: Send teams out to scout the area for resources. Allocate supplies to here’s the most pressing concern. Upgrade your ships to have better armor or give them powerful weapons. Advance the skills of your staff to run the ship better for even the smallest and most mundane tasks to more efficiently.
Your decisions have a persistent impact on the state of the Fleet: the relations between your factions, the defiencies in your medical services, and the state of your Fleet. Each is a story waiting to unfold. The conditions of your fleet can very easily turn against you, spawning outbreaks, systemic failures, and the dreaded civil war.
The Fleet depends on your leadership when a crisis arises. You will have to determine whether you will deal with the crisis promptly or let the negative effects play out. You face time constraints and limited resources.
Among the challenges you will deal with is when you find that your group has a Cylon infiltrator. This will require you to decide the best use of your resources. Waiting too long will negatively impact your players.
