Game Overview

Descenders is a procedurally generated mountain biking rogue-like, perhaps one of the stranger entries in the rogue-like genre. Descenders takes plenty of classic rogue-like features and mixes them in with plenty of new ones to create a surprisingly good experience for the player. Over the course of several stages you ride a mountain bike down a hill and perform tricks to rack up rep which is used to unlock new gear. Earning rep also unlocks crew members for your run which add modifiers to the game such as more powerful bunny hops or steeper tracks.

If you’ve been looking for a pretty realistic feeling biking game, a game that currently sits between the lines of not too much Sim but not too much Arcade, this game will scratch that itch well. Don’t be scared of the Early Access listing, this game is very polished for a title that is in Early Access and sets a great example for where a title should be when hitting Early Access. The controls and the bike itself feel incredible, the maps within the 4 zones currently available are randomly generated to constantly give you a new ride every time you play.
