Game Overview
The very first game in the series and a good one in addition. If you have played DMC4 or DmC before trying this one, then it might feel dull and for some unplayable, although reviewing a game by such a way would be rather unfair. When it came out it must have been good, but suffered from a few things for sure. The first thing to mention would be the camera angles. You need to keep in mind that DMC will not go easy on you at all, so you should be prepared for it to show you how bad you are by giving you a message that you can play on easy mode. What I wanna say is that the angles are literally your enemies.
All because of some camera angle, that’s pretty much it. The story is not really complicate and you shouldn’t even expect too much because it’s a game that mainly focuses on game play. Although it’s also not perfect, I would say it’s decent. Sure, you basically can’t do combos and the game is often lazy by spamming the game bosses over and over or the fact that you will experience backtracking is annoying. Despite that, you’ve got plenty of weapons and even though you need to backtrack from time to time, the locations are rather nice. The last thing to talk about would be soundtrack. Here I literally have nothing to complain about. DMC is one of my favorite game series exactly because of the music that follows you while you’re slaying some demons.
