Evoland 2 had me on the edge of my seat the entire time; It consistently, and flawlessly executed it’s various modes of play- and nothing felt too over the top. I enjoyed the variety, fourth-wall breaking, and often humorous references to the games which inspired this gem of a game. As I mentioned before- nothing felt over the top, and it is the sort of game that you can approach light-heartedly, or from a completion point of view; Both modes of play are very balanced.

However, some of the qualms I have: The sensitivity of the keys to certain game modes; The learning curb to navigating the world -in particular, if you step away from the game for any length of time: It becomes slightly difficult to find your place again. I would definitely recommend Evoland 2 to anyone who can appreciate the vast, and colorful history of video games, and the tropes that have emerged from the various genres.
