The Final Hours of Half-Life: Alyx is, as its description says, an interactive storybook by Geoff Keighley. However, it doesn’t simply talk about the development of Half-Life: Alyx, but rather it delves into the last decade at Valve, finally shedding some light into what went on in a company known for its secretive nature. Personally, I found it a fairly interesting read, and the insight it provided in regards to how Valve worked for the past decade, and how it ended up developing Alyx, with all the challenges it implied, is phenomenal. I read it at a fairly slow pace, I’d say, taking my time to play around with the different interactive parts it offers, with the only exception being the 3D tour of the Valve offices. Keep in mind, however, that since it deals with the development of Alyx, it goes into some heavy spoiler territory, so you should avoid it if you want to play the game spoiler free. If you already played it, or, like me, watched a playthrough on YouTube, this is a great read, so I recommend it.
