Game Overview
Solasta is not the graphical powerhouse that BG3 is, it is definitely the more definitive 5e CRPG. Even though it lacks much of the trappings of traditional D&D in the Forgotten Realms in favor of an original setting, largely for licensing reasons if I understand it properly, there’s so much love and care poured into the worldbuilding, the writing, the designs, and just the experience overall. While it certainly needs some time in the oven to finish refining a few elements, the underpinning here is exceptional and I think there are definitely great opportunities for both the story and the game to develop from here.
While there are some significant changes from 5e rules, particularly in the new archetypes added to round out the fairly limited SRD content, it feels like a loyal, faithful adaptation of the 5e rules in both text and spirit.
