Thumper PC Game Overview

Thumper is challenging and thematically rewarding, but there’s some quality of life stuff missing that should be standard in fast-paced, precision based games like this. In games where you are going to be restarting a lot, the lack of a bendable quick restart button is disappointing. Even worse is when the restart option is multiple buttons away in the menu and that menu does not respond as quick as the game, making for multiple times where you are trying to restart but keep resuming because it’s not picking up your inputs fast enough.

The controls are quite simple, but the moves you’re expected to pull off with them can become flabbergasting by the finale. You have one button and one stick, and the button triggers panels on the track when pressed and gives you the power to bust through barriers when held. You’ll also need to hold it when you drift along walls, along with the direction you’re drifting in. You can launch off of panels into the air, and slam back down to clear certain obstacles.
